
Ars Nova Internships
Ars Nova seeks an Artistic Intern, an Administrative Intern and a Production Intern to assist with the programming and general operations of a vibrant, eclectic theater. These internships offer a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in artistic development, management, promotion, and producing.
The ideal candidates for all three positions must have strong organizational and communication skills; strong writing skills; excellent attention to detail; and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Applications for the next Artistic Internship will be accepted until January 15 for a start date of early March. The Winter/Spring Administrative and Production Internship begin in January, summer internships for all three positions begin in early June and fall internships begin in late August/early September. There is some flexibility in start dates. Weekly stipend or college credit available.
Artistic Intern
Working closely with and directly reporting to the Artistic Department, this intern’s responsibilities may include: logging and tracking submissions; organizing show coverage; assisting with play readings and developmental workshops; managing submission outreach and application periods; evaluating scripts and attending productions; and general administrative support for the artistic staff, including phone coverage, written correspondence and scheduling.
This is a full-time position.
Administrative Intern
Working closely with and directly reporting to the General Management, Marketing and Development Departments, this intern’s responsibilities may include: assisting with Front of House operations; maintaining artist contracts; marketing research and press outreach; proofreading and editorial work; social network updates; light video/photo editing and minor web/graphic design; new donor research and donor correspondence; assembling and sending proposal packets; and special event support.
This is a full-time position.
Production Intern
Responsibilities may include maintaining inventory of sound/lighting equipment; assisting production staff on shows; and gathering production materials as needed. This internship will provide hands-on experience in a variety of production disciplines, though previous technical production experience is a plus.
This is a part-time position.
